A great workspace is easy to accomplish, even small design changes can make a huge difference. These changes will not only make you happier, but also healthier and super productive! Here are some tips to create that nice and productive workspace!
Try to let in as much natural light as possible. The light will make you feel more energetic and creative. It is not realistic to put more windows in your home, but you can definitely try to make the best of the light you already have by placing your desk near the window.
Lose the clutter
A desk without clutter will increase your productivity and help you to stay organized. Just organize the tools and documents you really need on your desk and get rid of the rest. Also don’t skip you computer folders, this will save you so much time if you are looking for a particular document.
Print out some inspiring quotes, frame them and hang them on the wall. This is not only a way to decorate you workspace, but also a great motivation. Think about quotes like “Keep calm and carry on” and “Everything is gonna be alright”.
Put a little plant on your desk, I assure you it will help you to stay happy, productive and healthy even if the task you have to do is not super fun. You do not have to put a huge plant on your desk, even a cute little cactus will do the job!
Bring in some color
Color affects people’s feelings and productivity while working. If you have to solve a problem and want to stimulate your mind go for blue and green shades. If you are looking for creativity, try to bring in some yellow. Also nice to know is the fact that the intensity of the color makes a difference as well, so will bright colors stimulate you more than softer muted colors. You do not have to change the whole color of your workspace, just choose some accent colors you like!
Even if your desk is placed near a window, has some color and a cactus on it, it is still possible you don’t feel that productive. The solution to this is easy. Give yourself the space to have a little walk once in a while. Create a cute coffee station to get yourself a delicious cappuccino and rest a bit. After that I am sure you can find your way back to your desk to finish the thing you have been working on.
