I love it when art disciplines are combined and that is exactly what happens at Haute Couture carried out by the Ragazze Quartet. Four young ladies perform several Parisian masterpieces from the early 20th century wearing gorgeous outfits designed by the Henriette Tilanus. It is definitely a treat for your eyes and ears!
The Ragazze Quartet brings the early 20th century back to life by playing several pieces from Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Ravel. One thing these componists have in common is that they all lived in Paris at that time. Paris was a very popular city for both fashion designers and musicians. A lot of great work came forth out of this period of time which the Ragazze Quartet tends to bring alive again. In order to do so they asked Dutch designer Henriette Tilanus to design four dresses inspired by that period of time and the music pieces.
I was invited by the Concert Gebouw to see Haute Couture and I have to say that I really enjoyed it! I think the overall concept is really cool and I loved the way they tied fashion to music. The decor of the concert room was really modern and inspiring as well!
If you are excited to experience this musical haute couture yourself, I would recommend to checkout the website of Ragazze Kwartet. You can find some more information about Ragazze Quartet on there as well as all performance dates.
